Slow Down - We need to raise our awareness of children playing in coves and using the streets to get to and from buses. Several residents expressed concern about the speed of residents' vehicles as they enter and exit the residential streets to and from the main inlet Mayfield. Lets keep the neighborhood safe and simply slow down. Look for children. The Collierville PD has made several visits to Collierville Station to enforce speed and stop sign infractions.

If you see any type of suspicious activity. please contact the Shelby County Sheriff's Dept. They have a Non-Emergency number 901-379-7609. They will dispatch a deputy to come check it out. There have been several incidents with people on foot walking the neighborhood or passing out flyers. We are a private community and have posted a no solicitation sign. We do have some empty homes due to relocation and other circumstances. Unusual behavior and traffic around these homes should be reported.

Light up the Night
Breakstone and Clearstone residents have builder installed lanterns in their yards. This provides a well lit appearance for their streets after dark. I took a walking tour of North and South Fairmont Circle last week after dark and noticed that we have multiple stretches of four and five houses with no exterior lights on at night. Without street lights, these stretches are pitch black and potentially dangerous if someone were to decide attempt a break in. I strongly urge All residents to turn on their porch lights after dark. Consider using a low energy halogen bulb to reduce the cost and increase the longevity of the bulbs. Light is a deterrent to criminal behavior. >>>> Crime Tracker

Are scooters legal to ride on the street? Due to residents concerns, we have posted the following to answer any questions you might have from the Collierville Police dept website. According the State of Tennessee some are and some aren’t. If a scooter is under 50cc, 2 brake horsepower, has an automatic transmission and has a maximum speed of 30 mph on level ground it may be street legal if it has the proper equipment. A scooter that meets these requirements is considered a “Motorized Bicycle”. A legal scooter must have a headlight capable of illuminating 200’ in front of it. It must have a taillight capable of being distinguished 100’ behind it. It must have at least one brake, a left side mirror and a muffler. If the scooter meets these requirements it is street legal. A scooter meeting these requirements will not have to be registered as it is considered a “Motorized Bicycle”. To operate a scooter on the street a person must posses a Chauffer or Motorcycle license. This means that anyone under 14 years old cannot legally ride a scooter on the street.

 Always report Suspicious activity.

To phone in a tip on a crime or a possible crime, simply call 457-CASH. Don't tell your name. No one will know it. Just tell what you know or suspect and get your own secret personal ID number. Use it later when you call back to find out if the Police made an arrest and how to collect your reward.
